This tournament probably ended because the towns in the West Kootenays began hosting their own Open Championship; examples include: Nelson Open 1928, Rainbow Open (Kaslo), Slocan Open (New Denver), Wood-Valance (Kimberley), Boyd Cup, Blossom Festival Open (Creston), and Rossland-Trail Open.
By viewing the microfilms for the Nelson Daily News from 1920 – 1970 the Museum hopes to construct the list of champions for each of these events. This should identify the prominent players in the region during this time frame.
If anyone has information, photographs, and trophies pertaining to these tournaments please contact the Museum.
