Golf Hall of Fame of BC

It is with great the pleasure Golf Hall of Fame is announcing the creation of a “BUILDER” category. Until now the Hall of Fame has only inducted the elite players of the province.

2025 is an induction year. All nominations must be received by the BC Golf Museum before JUNE 1 2025. Nominations can be made in the PLAYER, TEAM, and BUILDER CATEGORIES.

Nomination must have the consent of the Nominee or family member.

Nomination categories: Player (Amateur, Professional, both), Team, Builder

Nominations can be made in the following categories:

CATEGORY 1

Player (Men & Women):

Amateur golfer: one whose accomplishments were as an amateur golfer as defined by Golf Canada

Professional: one whose accomplishments were as a professional golfer as defined by Golf Canada

Criteria:

All nominees must have reached their 50th birthday in the year the person is nominated;

All nominees must have brought recognition to British Columbia through excellence in golf championship play and exemplary conduct;

All nominees must have been a resident of British Columbia during the period of their accomplishments. Exception If the candidate played their junior or amateur golf in BC, then the nominees worldwide golfing accomplishments will be considered.

CATEGORY 2.        

 Team

Criteria

Must have represented BC when the win was acclaimed;

Must be composed of BC residents at the time of winning;

Must have won a national championship representing BC, or an international championship representing Canada;

Must be comprised of two or more players.

CATEGORY 3

 Builder

Criteria

Applicant must have been a permanent resident of BC for at least 15 years;

Applicant must be at least 50 years of age;

Application must have at least one letter of support from one of the above associations;

Application cannot have more than 10 letters of support;

Candidate must have served the association for at least 25 years;

Candidate cannot be a serving politician locally, provincially, or nationally;

Application must list honors already received by the candidate;

Candidate has served the association in all capacities as a paid employee or a volunteer;

Application must show how the candidate has made an outstanding contribution to the association showing leadership, devotion, and advancement of the association;

The candidate is not a professional promoter, sponsor, or fundraiser;

All claims made by the nominator in the application must be verified by the nominator with photos, news clippings, programs, etc.;

The Selection Committee for the Golf Hall of Fame of BC has the option to select a maximum of one inductee in the builder category.

The Nominating Committee considers the following information for the Amateur Player category:

Zone Amateur Championships won, BC Championships won, Canadian Championships: 1st and 2nd finishes, Regional Championships ( PNGA, Pacific Coast,, College Championships 1st and 2nd, International championships: 1st and 2nd

The Nominating Committee considers the following information the Professional Player category:

PGA of BC Provincial Championships (all categories), 1st 2nd ; PGA of Canada National Championships all categoories,1st or 2nd, PGA/LPGA/SENIOR Tour 1st, 2nd, 3rd; Other Tours 1st 2nd, Canadian Tour 1st 2nd, all qualifying tour events 1st 2nd;

Other significant amateur or professional championships won by the nominee;

The nominator is expected to submit a playing record for the nominee.
