The Northern British Columbia Open also known as the Northern Interior Open and the Smithers Open.

The event is open to residents between Prince George and Prince Rupert.
First event September 18th, 1932 By instituting an annual regional tournament the club hoped to create sufficient interest in the game to extend the course to nine holes.
In the first event forty-eight players from Smithers, Hazelton, and Burns Lake participated in the Northern BC Open.
