The Kootenay region had two Golf Associations that predated the eventual districts: the Crow’s Nest Golf Association in the east Kootenays, and the West Kootenay Golf Association. Both of these associations ran tournaments for their women players. When the districts formed under the CLGA BC Branch in 1974, these two regions were combined into one district: District Four.
