In 1933, the CLGU BC Branch formed with two divisions: Vancouver Island and the Mainland. The Mainland divided further in 1955 to form two divisions: the Mainland and the Interior. These three divisions were changed into nine districts in 1974. Of those nine districts, three were in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. These districts were District Two, District Five, and District Eight.
